1. If the debit note does not specify the repayment time, the lender may demand repayment from the borrower at any time, and the borrower may also make repayment to the lender at any time. The limitation of action is 3 years from the date when the lender requests repayment. 2. As long as the lender has evidence to show that it has claimed its rights within the limitation period, the limitation of action will be recalculated, but the maximum limitation of action shall not exceed 20 years. 3. If the IOU exceeds the limitation of action, try to promote both parties to reach a repayment agreement on the original IOU through friendly negotiation. According to the law, the repayment agreement reached by both parties on the original debt beyond the limitation of action belongs to a new creditor's right and debt relationship, and the repayment agreement shall be protected by law. If no consensus can be reached or the other party can not be contacted, it is suggested to sue in time. Although the borrower has obtained the right of defense against the non performance of the debt, it may not appear in court or make a prescription defense.
